Sistema de Transporte Estudiantil amplía servicios en Sabana Perdida y Los Alcarrizos

A solo tres días de su lanzamiento oficial, el director del Sistema de Transporte Estudiantil (TRAE), ingeniero Onésimo González, informó que a partir del próximo lunes 30 de octubre se incorporarán 11 nuevas rutas al sistema, las cuales se suman a los 80 corredores escolares que ya funcionan en el Gran Santo Domingo, Monte Plata, Villa Altagracia y San Cristóbal. 

“Estamos trabajando de manera acelerada para garantizar que todos los días la cobertura de TRAE sea mayor”, manifestó González.

El experto en transporte explicó que, de estas nuevas rutas, seis funcionarán en Los Alcarrizos, con 20 autobuses en operación, los cuales se suman programa para garantizar que los niños, niñas y jóvenes tengan acceso a un transporte seguro, gratuito y cómodo. 

Detalló que cuatro corredores TRAE funcionarán en Sabana Perdida, con 12 autobuses disponibles para transportar a los estudiantes, completando el TRAE en todo Santo Domingo Norte, al tiempo de agregar que, para reforzar el servicio en el Distrito Educativo 10-04 en el Municipio Santo Domingo Este, se habilitará una ruta con 7 autobuses en operación. 

Compromiso de TRAE

“En TRAE estamos comprometidos con solucionar, de una vez y por todas, el drama de las familias dominicanas, que por falta de dinero tienen que enviar a sus hijos a pie a escuela o tienen que invertir parte de su salario en pasajes”, sostuvo González, quien recordó que el Gran Santo Domingo tiene asignadas 230 unidades, en 62 rutas escolares y 730 kilómetros de recorrido.

Entre los sectores que actualmente son beneficiados con el programa están:  Villa Mella, Los Guaricanos, Sabana Perdida, La Victoria, Guerra, Mendoza, La Isabelita, Villa Duarte, Los Tres Ojos, Invivienda, El Almirante, Boca Chica, Andrés y Brisa de Caucedo. 

Además, La Caleta, El Valiente, El Millón, La Paz, La Yuca, Cristo Rey, Los Ríos, La Feria, Los Kilómetros, Los Girasoles, Los Peralejos, Ciudad Colonial, Villa Francisca, Ensanche Naco, Gascue, Los Praditos, Pedro Brand, y muchos otros sectores que también reciben el servicio. 

Programa de expansión de TRAE

Se expandirá el servicio antes del 23 de noviembre, con 105 nuevos autobuses, distribuidos 48 unidades a la provincia de Hato Mayor y 57 autobuses adicionales a San Cristóbal, de los cuales 13 autobuses ya están prestando servicios en 3 corredores escolares, en Villa Altagracia. 

El programa fue planificado y programado para funcionar en todo el territorio nacional, con el diseño de 582 corredores escolares que comprenden unos 7,780 kilómetros de recorrido, utilizando 1,600 autobuses, de los cuales se espera que 900 unidades estén transportando a los estudiantes antes del 23 de diciembre. 

Para esa fecha, se estima la incorporación de 500 nuevos autobuses adicionales para brindar servicio en las provincias de Santiago de los Caballeros (165 unidades), Duarte (45), Puerto Plata (73), La Altagracia (52), La Romana (40), San Pedro de Macorís (36), San Juan de la Maguana (39) y Barahona (50), completando 900 autobuses escolares. 

Ampliación de cobertura

Con el propósito de garantizar la mejor cobertura, fueron rentados 230 autobuses para operar en el Gran Santo Domingo, de los cuales 149 unidades ya están transportando cada día a cientos de estudiantes hacia y desde sus escuelas, impactando a una población de 535,895 alumnos. 

Los otros 81 autobuses restantes están en proceso de rotulación y realizándoles las instalaciones de seguridad, como son cámaras con GPS, cinturones en los asientos y los letreros de PARE, para incorporarlos al servicio TRAE antes del 23 de noviembre de este año y seguir transportando a los estudiantes, de manera cómoda y segura. 

El Sistema de Transporte Estudiantil, al día de hoy, (jueves 26 de octubre) ha transportado 993,300 estudiantes, produciendo ahorro por costo de transporte a las familias de RD 297,990.00, irradiando beneficios económicos de RD 14.5 millones mensuales, en los municipios donde funciona el programa, gracias a la creación directa de 850 empleos para choferes, auxiliares y supervisoras, quienes fueron evaluados y capacitados por ENEVIAL. 

TRAE protegerá y salvaguardará la vida de los niños, ejecutando un Plan Nacional de Entornos Escolares Seguros, para mejorar el acceso a los Centros Educativos e instalar señales de tránsito verticales y horizontales, preventivas e informativas, incluyendo las paradas de los autobuses y reductores de velocidad o policías acostados frente a las escuelas.
